FAQs

• Why are you notifying me of this outage if they are regular occurrences and nothing to be concerned about?

  We are notifying our Members to ensure they are prepared. The work that we are doing is important to keep Bank First modern and up-to-date and the longer window allows for this work.

• I’m going out with friends on Friday night. Can I still pay for my meal using Bank First card on ‘tap and go’ or by using my debit/credit card?

  Absolutely. Card services will not be impacted by this outage. You will still be able to insert your card or ‘tap and go’ when paying for transactions. ATMs will also be available (the only exception is the Bank First ATM in Hawthorn East) during the outage period.

• What if I lose my card? I won’t have the ability to turn off access in Internet Banking to prevent someone using it without my knowledge.

  Immediately call 1300 654 822 and choose option 1. This will direct your call through to Visa Card Services who will put a stop on your card to prevent anyone from using it.

• Can I still get money out of an ATM during the outage period?

  Yes. ATMs are not impacted, except for the Bank First ATM at Hawthorn East which won’t be available for use during the outage period.

• There is a great sale on that Friday night, starting at midnight. Does that mean I can’t use my Bank First card to make my purchases?

  No it doesn’t. You can still use your debit/credit cards for online shopping during the outage period.
